No New Posts Character Tracking

To keep track of all of your characters and the threads that they're in, I recommend keeping a character tracking thread. Every member gets one thread and, in it, you are to record information about all of your characters and their love lives, the location of their bios, any plots they are involved with and other such nonsense.

No New Posts Ohu Mountains

The Dog's Paradise. Untouched by human hands for years, the vast wilds of the Ohu Mountains spread out across the horizon; dotted with snow-capped mountain peaks, lush fields and valleys, networks of rivers, and seemingly endless forests

No New Posts Gajou - 1 Viewing

This huge rock structure is nestled in a clearing in the heart of Ohu Territory; surrounded by a thick forest on three of its sides, and bordered on the other by a river canyon with steep walls; it serves as both a monument to the battle against Akakabuto, and as the home to the Ohu Leaders.

No New Posts Kasumi-Taki Lake

The river that runs from the waterfall created by the river canyon that cuts through the earth alongside Gajou winds its way through a diverse and lush forest, ending at Kasumi-Taki Lake; a cool water basin -- with sparkling, crystal clear water, its smooth surface punctuated by rocky outcropping, or small 'island' in the center. On cool mornings, the haze and the mist will be carried from the waterfall by the wind, and settle in a soothing fog over the lake area.

No New Posts The Northern Fortress - 1 Viewing

Nearing the very edge of Ohu's Territory lies the Northern Fortress, an abandoned human culvert structure. This brick 'fortress' provides temporary shelter and safety and rests only a short distance from the main river that cuts through the heart of Ohu, and runs through the canyon behind Gajou.

No New Posts Gin's Home Village - 1 Viewing

A relatively small village somewhere at the base of the majestic Ohu Mountain range in north-eastern Japan, it is home to humans and their prized hunting dogs, many of whom are either descendants of or well aware of the famous bear dogs of old, the ones that took down the monster bear at Gajou. Since the area is prone to heavy snow fall, sled dogs can also be a common sight but almost all the dogs here are pets of some sort, given free range around the town's small shops, stores and houses in the off season. But during hunting season, they are frequently taken into the mountains to deal with bears and other predators that sometimes threaten the civilians.

The sacred shrine of the stars, nestled nicely in the far corners of the Southern Alps, surrounded on all sides by tall mountains and cliff faces or by thick groves of pine trees and forest. On one edge of the small circular clearing rests a fairly sharp, rocky hill with a long line of steps carved out of the front, leading up to a tall wooden gate and, beyond that, the mouth of a cave. A cave lit with sacred candles and a cave that hides Japan's most powerful secrets.

No New Posts Moon's Peak - 1 Viewing

A strongly forested land, where the den rests in a cave above a huge, gray cliff. A wide slope of rock and dirt leads into the forest to the East, South and West, while the grass plain is North, both below and infront of the den. After miles of tall grass, a wide river marks the end of the North territory, the cherry blossom grove marks the end of the east territory, the mountains are the end of the Southern territory and the east is marked by another cliff leading to a small village.

No New Posts Mount Tsurugi - 1 Viewing

The second-highest peak in western Japan is located nearby. The closest towns are Tsurugi which is close to the East Iys Valley. East Iya is still relatively difficult to access, and thus the natural beauty is largely undisturbed. Several vine bridges, once the only method for crossing the rivers, continue to span the valleys and have become a popular tourist attraction.

The Southern Territories

No New Posts The Southern Alps

The Southern Alps provide a vast region of skyscraping mountain peaks and known for unforgivable winters. The cool climate of the mountains give it a relatively steady weather pattern. The Alps are sprinkled with small brooks and plenty of vegetation. The maze of forest paths are endless throughout the range, though the place itself is very livable.

No New Posts Abandoned Farmstead - 1 Viewing

Decaying quietly on a hillside near the base of the Southern Alps sits a small cabin that was probably once used by hunters, but has been long since abandoned. A few scarce pieces of dilapitated furniture dot the inside, where entrance can be gained through a broken window, while outside a rusted windmill creaks in the wind

Roughly translated the name means Forest of Despair. A dark, almost desolate place. It was named that by humans due to the keening howls the wolves used when calling to one another; it sounded to them like lost souls in despair and thus the nameā€¦Trees canopy the area, almost completely blocking out the sunlight in many of the areas. Prey is hard to come by, but not impossible.

No New Posts Kaede Takaoka

A small area hidden from view by surrounding trees, Kaeda Takaoka translates directly to 'High Maple Hill'. The trees that grow here are all Japanese maple, a rare sight within the boundaries of the forest. Rising out of the fog ridden forest of browns and greens, with fanning ruby hued branches, this hidden treasure waits. At the right time of day the sun illuminates the bountiful gathering with a beautiful light from the many crimson and purple tinted leaves; the moon turns this area a bloody red.

No New Posts The Northern Gate - 1 Viewing

The Northern Gate refers to the swatch of land leading into the Northern Alps. Carved with lakes and small streams and thick forests, the Northern Gate is also home to a series of hotsprings. The terrain gradually gets steeper and rocky as the ground fades away to the pass leading into the mountains.

No New Posts Kai, Yamanashi

Another glorious land in Japan, Kai is actually the name of a large city, but this particular terra consists primarily of the woodlands and mountains around the city, away from the humans. It is the breeding ground and homeland of the honorable Kai brothers and is guarded fiercely both by the pack the presides here and by the giant boars that roam the country side.

This territory varies throughout its whole, a large, deep rock canyon borders the territory, blood from travelers, trespassers, and prey alike stain its walls and floor from their failed attempts at crossing. Beside it, a sparse forest. made up of barren earth that causes many of the trees to be dead and fallen, as well as a lower valley that provides more cover and food for prey. This area is prone to climate changes ranging widely from unbearable heat and rain storms to snow and flash floods, and is protected by a misunderstood pack that can be as unpredictable as their territories weather patterns. The dogs here may not be well known, but mix business with them and they will be sure to make their intentions known.

No New Posts Roedor Valley - 1 Viewing

Nestled bellow the Southern Alps, Roedor Valley is a relatively small territory. A small stream runs between the Alps and the Valley marking the boundary. The valley is very green and well sheltered from storms and snow from the tall pine trees growing off the sides of the rocky cliffs. Between the sparsely placed tree trunks are flat grassy patches were enough soil has formed for rabbits to live. Above the grass patches are jagged rocks hiding small dens.

No New Posts Koga Village - 1 Viewing

Located in a peaceful marsh lies the home of the Ninja Dogs of Koga. Dappled with abandoned teahouses in which the ninjas rest in, the area is fenced by a rich forest and a small lake in which become sanctuaries for the young, old, sick and healthy. The Koga Village, once sworn enemies of the Iga ninjas, have been transformed from the cannibalistic dark ninjas into the more dominant good-willed warriors, closely tied with Ohu. It is located far into the east, isolated from most of the higher powers.

The second-largest island of Japan, Hokkaido is located far into the north. The center of the island contains a vast region of mountains and volcanic plateaus. A vast expanse of coastal plains are present in every direction. The island has cool summers and icy, snowy winters, high humidity always present in the air. This island has found to have been home to the Dogs of Hokkaido.

Located in the region of Honshu, Mutsu is the home of the four generals and their sons. They are staunch allies of Ohu and will send aid when called upon to do so. A mountainous, harsh area of the country; the land is rough and the weather often quite brutal.

No New Posts Suzumushi Hollow - 1 Viewing

Serpentine chains of silver mist wind through the jade green tendrils of the weeping willow trees that watch over this hallowed ground. The earth is mossy and lush, characterized by its mix of rolling prairie and marshy lowland, and here and there rest piles of stone and crudely fashioned graves. Bordered on one side by the semicircle of trees, Suzumashi Hollow is perfect in its silence, broken only by the soft, poignant symphony of the bell crickets for which the fen is named.

No New Posts The Island of Shikoku

Shikoku is a sizable island just south of Honshu. Swimmable distance, actually, and home of the country's greatest fighting dogs. Whole festivals are held in their honor and all day, and all night, dogs and other animals are pitted against each other. Winners are honored like kings, losers are used as bait and chewed until they are unrecognizable. Some of the greatest dogs in the world can be found on this island.

No New Posts Shirahama Coast - 1 Viewing

Shirahama is a small town on the coast of Honshu, a long, hard but possible swim from the island of Shikoku. This town is known mostly for its beaches and harbors, as well as what appears to be an abandoned ship, which provides good shelter to stray dogs. But it's main attraction are by far the clear, white sandy beaches where fish are plentiful and man and animal live together in peace. Because the town is small, they tend to welcome wild dogs and are often fairly helpful when food is scarce, often feeding dogs who help them fish or hunt rabbits and mice in the surrounding fields.

No New Posts Tokyo

Tokyo, by far the most famous city in Japan, is not a place for wild dogs. Humans inhabit the buildings like vermin and, while a clever stray can eek out a living begging for scraps, it's a difficult sort of life without a collar or a loving home. However, Tokyo also has lots of suburbs, where hunting dogs are trained to be warriors and wild animals can wander in and out at leisure, without worrying about the traffic or other man-made dangers of the downtown Tokyo area.

No New Posts Mie Prefecture

A desolate desert-like land. The ground is parched and littered with the whispers of unlucky travelers, only their bones left to wither. The land is fed souly by the one river than streaks through it though the river itself has a deadly pull. Shade is found in the mesas of the mini-desert and the dark tunnels of unknown creatures. This land is protected fiercely by its rouge dogs and bandits. This is no place for the faint of heart.
